Shelby girl updates!!

Not a lot is going on the Jennings' household. Last week, Shelby and I went to Arkansas for a visit. We went over to Jodie's house and Shelby took a 3 hour nap on her tummy. This was highly unusual for the child who hates to lie on her stomach. She was too cute though. Shelby also got this new flower passie clip to help hang on to it. She has recently discovered how to take her passie out of her mouth. She investigates it closely and sometimes chews on the edges, but of course has not figured out how to put it back in her mouth the right way.

Shelby has been moving right along and eating up her vegetables. Green peas are her favorite, followed closely by squash, and carrots are her least favorite so far. Those are the 3 she has tried for now. She is too funny when she eats though, because she tries to chew on her bib and ends up wiping her face off. She made a pretty big mess tonight with her carrots, but then wiped them off of her face herself.

Back in the game!

Ok. So I have been a terrible blogger for the last month. Shelby and I went to Arkansas with Tara a few weeks ago, and then I had to work Fri., Sat., and Sun. when we got back. I quickly discovered then that I had a virus on my computer. That was a fun week, trying to restore and protect the computer, but mission accomplished. The last few weeks since have been very busy. Sam, Susan, and Sean came over to swim one day. I had two teethed pulled last week and am still recovering from that. My mom and Larry came into town over the 4th. We had John and Sharon over for dinner on Fri. night and then just hung out. I had to work on Sat. and Sun., but got to leave early on Sat. at 3pm. I came home and we all ate pizza together, then Scotty and I went on a mini-date, while my mom watched Shelby.

Today I took Shelby to the Doc. for her 4 month check-up, even though she will be 5 months on Thurs. The doctor's schedule was so full, they could not get her in until this week. She got her shots and the doc says everything looks great. We can even start trying some baby foods. She has been eating cereal in her nightime bottle for over a month and in the past few weeks I have been working with cereal from a bowl and spoon for her and she is starting to get the hang of it. We might try a veggie later on this week. So, today we found out that she is 24 1/2 inches long and 17 1/2 lbs. The doc says that she is definitely a thriving baby. She is so happy most of the time. She loves to lay on the floor and talk and squeal. She even wakes up happy and talking. All she had done today is sleep though. Those shots really took it out of her.

Here are some pics of Shelby being patriotic on the 4th!!
