Shelby 9 Months!!
We took Shelby for her 9 month check up yesterday! She weighs 23 1/2 lbs and is 28 inches long. Her weight is still over the 95th percentile (out of 100 kids her age, she weighs more than 95), but her height is now in the 50-75th percentile. She was only in the 25-50 perc

October in the fast lane!
In the middle of the month, my grandmother passed away. Scotty, Jay, Shelby and I all piled into my little Malibu and headed for Cabot, AR (just outside of Little Rock.) Even though the loss of my grandmother is very sad, some of my family dow
n there had not met Shelby yet, so that made the visit a little more pleasant. One day when we were down there, some friends of
my brother and sister-in-law had a pumpkin picking night at there farm. My nephews, niece, and Shelby were all dressed the part in their Halloween outfits. We hopped on the ha
y-ride and picked out our pumpkins. All of the kids had a blast. Shelby seemed to have a good time, even though she didn't quite know what was going on! We got some great pics too.

The next w
eek, Scotty, Shelby and I went to Rombach's Farm with Susan, Sam, Sean, Heather, Noah
, Jen and Hayley. Shelby was getting into the pumpkins now. We got some great pics of the 3 of us, along with pics of all of the kids. Later in the week, Shelby and I went to visit my friend Jen, who was on her 2nd to last week of maternity leave. Time goes by so fast.
Elijah is almost 3 months old now. I actually worked with her today, on her first day back. It seems like forever since I we
nt back to work. I am such a glutton for punishment, that I picked up an extra shift this week!! Ahh!!
The
next week, Jay, Shelby and I headed to Rogers, AR to visit my mom and Larry. We decided that it was a good way for Jay to spend his last week of
f of work from his short term disability for his herniated disc. We had a good time. As well as time with the parents, Jay spent some time with his friends and I went and spent one afternoon with Jodie and Kaylin. We had a nice visit.
Then came Halloween. I had to work for 12 h
ours that day. We were over staffed at work that day, so I was really hoping to get the day off, or atleast go home early... didn't happen. Scotty and Shelby w
ent trick-or-treating with the Talley family. Sean was a puppy and Shelby was a tiger. I met up with them at Sam and Susan's after I got off work. I think Shelby really liked her costume. She wore it, with the hood on, until I put her to bed. Crazy girl!!
Looking back now, I can't believe how much has gone on this month. We have been super busy between work, traveling, and day-to-day stuff. I had planned on blogging many times before, but never did. I hope this wasn't too long and boring. Atleast maybe some of the pics are entertaining.

Getting older!!
Well, I haven't blogged for a while because it's been crazy busy and I'm a slacker. I guess that's what it was turning 30 does to you. Scotty still has another year before he's over the hill.
We had our annual birthday celebration and it went well. I know that I had a lot of fun (I think everyone else did too). Labor day weekend was busy too. With Mom, Larry, Aunt Yvonne, and Uncle Barry in town, it was run, run, run. I had to work the whole weekend, but got to spend time with everyone in the evenings. Shelby and I enjoyed having Mom and Larry in town for a couple of extra days also. Scotty and I are still trying to squeeze in some time together between our 2 very different schedules. We do manage to have an evening together every once in a while. Here are some fun pictures. I can't belive that Shelby is 7 months today. They do grow too fast!!!!
Here is a picture of Milo trying to get Shelby to scratch his ears. I think he just saw a pair of dangling feet and thought they might be up for scratching. I guess maybe the two of them might be friends afterall.
Shelby is styling here in Tara's sunglasses and here is a picture of her new trick. She holds her paci and still continues to talk. And her hands are free to do whatever else. She is a true girly girl too. She squeals and screeches and super loud too!!
More pics and stories to come soon!!!!

Shelby girl updates!!
sie clip to help hang on to it. She has recently discovered how to take her passie out of her mouth. She investigates it closely and sometimes chews on the edges, but of course has not figured out how to put it back in her mouth the right way.Shelby ha
s been moving right along and eating up her vegetables. Green peas are her favorite, followed closely by squash, and carrots are her least favorite so far. Those are the
3 she has tried for now. She is too funny when she eats though, because she tries to chew on her bib and ends up wiping her face off. She made a pretty big mess tonight with her carrots, but then wiped them off of her face herself.

Back in the game!
Ok. So I have been a terrible blogger for the last month. Shelby and I went to Arkansas with Tara a few weeks ago, and then I had to work Fri., Sat., and Sun. when we got back. I quickly discovered then that I had a virus on my computer. That was a fun week, trying to restore and protect the computer, but mission
accomplished. The last few weeks since have been very busy. Sam, Susan, and
Sean came over to swim one day. I had two teethed pulled last week and am still recovering from that. My mom and Larry came into town over the 4th. We had John and Sharon over for dinner on Fri. night and then just hung out. I had to work on Sat. and Sun., but got to leave early on Sat. at 3pm. I came home and we all ate pizza together, then Scotty and I went on a mini-date, while my mom watched Shelby.
Today I took Shelby to the Doc. for her 4 month check-up, even though she will be 5 months on Thurs. The doctor's schedule was so full, they could not get her in until this week. She got her shots and the doc says everything looks great. We can even start trying some baby foods. She has been eating cereal in her
nightime bottle for over a month and in the past few weeks I have been working with cereal from a bowl and spoon for her and she is starting to get the hang of it. We might try a veggie later on this week. So, today we found out that she is 24 1/2 inches long and 17 1/2 lbs. The doc says that she is definitely a thriving baby. She is so happy most of the time. She loves to lay on the floor and talk and squeal. She even wakes up happy and talking. All she had done today is sleep though. Those shots really took it out of her.
Here are some pics of Shelby being patriotic on the 4th!!

Lots of catching up.
Scotty got 3 days for bereavement, so we took advantage and had some quality family time. On Wed., the 3 of
Shelby and I are going to Arkansas next week now and Tara is going to go with us. Even though Shelby is a good traveler, it makes for a much smoother trip when some one else travels along. It also makes the ride seem a lot faster. Here are a couple other cute pics of Shelby that I took last week. Her and Milo are both trying to decide if they like this new bumbo seat. She sits up pretty well in it, but is still a little wobbly so we only sit in it for a few minutes at a time. It's hard to believe that she will be 4 months old tomorrow!!!
