Back in the game!

Ok. So I have been a terrible blogger for the last month. Shelby and I went to Arkansas with Tara a few weeks ago, and then I had to work Fri., Sat., and Sun. when we got back. I quickly discovered then that I had a virus on my computer. That was a fun week, trying to restore and protect the computer, but mission accomplished. The last few weeks since have been very busy. Sam, Susan, and Sean came over to swim one day. I had two teethed pulled last week and am still recovering from that. My mom and Larry came into town over the 4th. We had John and Sharon over for dinner on Fri. night and then just hung out. I had to work on Sat. and Sun., but got to leave early on Sat. at 3pm. I came home and we all ate pizza together, then Scotty and I went on a mini-date, while my mom watched Shelby.

Today I took Shelby to the Doc. for her 4 month check-up, even though she will be 5 months on Thurs. The doctor's schedule was so full, they could not get her in until this week. She got her shots and the doc says everything looks great. We can even start trying some baby foods. She has been eating cereal in her nightime bottle for over a month and in the past few weeks I have been working with cereal from a bowl and spoon for her and she is starting to get the hang of it. We might try a veggie later on this week. So, today we found out that she is 24 1/2 inches long and 17 1/2 lbs. The doc says that she is definitely a thriving baby. She is so happy most of the time. She loves to lay on the floor and talk and squeal. She even wakes up happy and talking. All she had done today is sleep though. Those shots really took it out of her.

Here are some pics of Shelby being patriotic on the 4th!!

Lots of catching up.

Well alot has gone on over the last week and a half. Shelby and I were supposed to go to Arkansas last week to visit with my mom and Larry, but Scotty's grandmother passed away last weekend. The funeral services were last Tues., so we stayed in town to be with our family here. Here is a picture of Scotty, Shelby and I at the visitation. The other is a picture of Grandma Liliensiek's grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchild that were at the services last week.

Scotty got 3 days for bereavement, so we took advantage and had some quality family time. On Wed., the 3 of us went and walked around the botanical gardens. It was a beautiful day, a little steamy, but tolerable. There was a cool art exhibit going on and we got some pretty fun pictures. Shelby slept while we walked around the whole gardens and woke up when we got back to the center at the main entrance. We still took some pics there though. We had a really good time.

Shelby and I are going to Arkansas next week now and Tara is going to go with us. Even though Shelby is a good traveler, it makes for a much smoother trip when some one else travels along. It also makes the ride seem a lot faster. Here are a couple other cute pics of Shelby that I took last week. Her and Milo are both trying to decide if they like this new bumbo seat. She sits up pretty well in it, but is still a little wobbly so we only sit in it for a few minutes at a time. It's hard to believe that she will be 4 months old tomorrow!!!

Memorial Day Weekend!

I had to work on Fri., Sat., and Mon. of the weekend, so that wasn't much fun. On Sun. we had a very busy day though. We got up and went to church, then to Grandma and Grandpa Jennings for brunch. Then off to Eureka. Stevie's girlfriend, Victoria, graduated this year, so we went to her graduation party/picnic. It was a little wet at first, but then we dried out. After dropping Scotty off at the house, Shelby and I headed over to Tara's to hang out. I felt like we ran all day long, but I know I had a good time. My Dad and Pennye watched Shelby for the first time on Mon. while I worked. She was still in one piece when I picked her up (and so were they), so it seemed to go okay for everyone. Here are some fun picks. The one on the left is Shelby in her B.O.B. dress. I bought this dress on the day of my shower because I absolutely loved it and wanted it for B.O.B. if he/she was a girl. Turned out okay. The other pic is her in a cute dress her Grandma Petross got for her!! By the way she is sitting here, my guess is that she may not be such a girly-girl (takes after her mama)!!

Smiling babies!

We've just been hanging out with friends this week. Monday, we went to Tara's for a barbeque and I snapped this shot of baby girl smiling away and laughing. I absolutely love this picture!! Tuesday, Lisa and Dylan came over and the two kids are fond of each other. Dylan was also fond of the famous bouncy seat!! Wednesday, Susan and Sean came over. Sean was laughing and smiling for us while he waited for Shelby to wake up from her nap. Of course when Shelby woke up, Sean was tired and ready for his nap!! This morning we hung out with Daddy and then slept through the rainstorms this afternoon.

Catepillar Pics

I actually had to work 3 days in a row this weekend (Fri., Sat., and Sun.) It actually wasn't too bad, and I slept pretty good at night. I was pretty tired when I got home last night. Shelby did well for her daddy and Grandma Jennings. Grandpa and Nana Johnson came over for a visit on Sat. night. They had not seen Shelby since her Baptism and could not believe how much she had grown. I finally took some more catepillar pics. Here is her first pic at about 1 month and her new pic from last week, just over 3 months. I think she's grown just a little bit. She's very busy these days just laughing and kicking. She makes her cooing noises and smiles a lot.

Happy Mother's Day!!

Being a working mommy is wearing me out. I worked on Fri. and Sat., but was off on Sunday, thanks to Tara. She took the day off on Mon. to watch Shelby while I worked, just so I could spend my first Mother's Day with my baby girl. We had a great first Mother's Day together. We got up and went to church, and then had brunch at John and Sharon's. Then went home, took a nap and vegged out all day. I know it doesn't sound like much, but I certainly enjoyed it. I got a new CD from Scotty and a Willow Tree Mother-Daughter treasure box from Shelby. I can't believe the cool weather though. We dressed Shelby in a jogging suit that day so she would stay warm. All-in-all, I enjoyed my new holiday!!

Happy Anniversary!!

Yes, yesterday was our 1 year anniversary. That's hard to believe. A lot has happened in the last year. Last night, the two of us went to dinner at Kitaro's Japanese steakhouse. We then went to Timbercreek Grill and had a drink while we were waiting on the movies. We went and saw Made of Honor, perfect for a wedding anniversary. It was a cute movie. Shelby hung out with Grandma and Grandpa Jennings last night. She was a very good girl!!

And if you didn't know, last Sun. was my first day back to work. I worked 7am to 7pm. I had a good day. I felt a little off and out of place first thing in the morning, but I was back in the swing of things by the afternoon. It was just weird being there in the daytime hours after working nights for 2 years!!! Hopefully, my 2nd day will go just as well.
