Easter 2009 and Goofing around.

I had to work on Sun., so I dropped Shelby off at John and Sharon's on my way. Scotty met up with the 3 of them for church. They did stop by and see me at work on their way to Scotty's aunt and uncles house. So I did get to see her all dressed up. We both wanted to see her with her basket, so she didn't get it until Tues. morn.

Scotty was off on Mon., so the 3 of us ran around and spent some time together. It was very nice. Scotty was being funny and put Shelby up on his shouders. She thought it was hilarious!!

Sleeping update!

I feel like I can share some news and hopefully without jinxing myself. Shelby has done really well this week. After a rough weekend of waking up just about every hour and Shelby ending up in bed with us I decided enough was enough. I felt I was ready for a little tough love and instead of having to start over in a couple of months, I took the plunge and put Shelby to bed unswaddled! She had a crying spell on Sun. night and I held out for 40 min and she fell back asleep and did not wake up again. The exact same happened on Mon. night (just at 3 am). Tues. and Wed. went off with barely a hitch. Both of the last 2 nights, she did let out a cry/noise, but found her paci and went back to sleep. She has even taken naps this week, almost everyday, without difficulty. My baby girl is growing up!!! I definitely have enjoyed the sleep though!

Shelby's new hat!

Shelby and I were still recovering from the flu last week, but by Tues. we were ready to get out of the house. So, we hopped in the car and went to Target and Shop N Save. When we were browsing, I found this super cute hat. She didn't want to keep it on at first, but it has velcro and a tie. She wore it for the rest of the night! You can really tell that we were bored though because we had a very entertaining trip. Here is a pic of Shelby in a chair that was on display at Shop N Save. The chair is super cute and she thought it was really funny!

St. Patty's Day!

We didn't get out and do anything too Irish today, but we did get out and enjoy the weather. Shelby and I went to the park to meet up with Susan and Sean. This was Shelby's 1st time at the playground. She went down the slide a couple of times, but other than that, she just stuck to the swings and her cool Pooh car. She got her car for Christmas, but this was the first time she took it for a real spin. We used it instead of the stroller and she had a blast. Sean even took a turn pushing her in the car. After the park, we caught up with Dad and Pennye at Stevie's baseball game. Stevie didn't get to play, but it was nice to see everyone and enjoy the nice weather!!

A day in the life...

Things at the Jennings house are finally getting back to normal (somewhat). Shelby and I went to Arkansas to visit Mom and Larry and I have been sick ever since. I have been fighting a cold/sinus infection for almost 2 weeks, but I think I finally have it kicked. Scotty and I signed the contract last week on our fence installation. The estimated install is the last full week in Mar. We are very excited. I will post some pics after it is up. I went to the doctor this week about the irritation/rash on my hands that I have been fighting for over a year now. He diagnosed it as eczema and gave me some cream to apply twice daily. And I have strict instructions to use lotion everytime I wash my hands--at that rate, I might go through a whole bottle just in 1 weekend at work! Oh well. I am ready for them to stop itching and hurting. Hopefully this will take care of the problemo! Shelby has been acting a little crazy when it comes to sleep time lateley. She is still not sleeping through the night and is fighting bedtime terribly. Some nights, I can't get her down until 11pm. The doc. gave me the name of some books to check out, but I haven't had the chance yet. She does have 2-3 teeth coming in

at one time now, so that could explain some of the fussiness. Who knows! Here are some fun pics though. A couple are from our trip to AR and the bath ones are in Tara's sink. She watched Shelby a few weeks ago and took these cute pics!!

Shelby's birthday.

In addition to having her birthday party, Shelby also had a big day on her actual birthday. We went out to breakfast and then went over to Susan's. We took the kids for a ride in Shelby's wagon. She had fun. These 1 year olds are growing too fast!! Look at the difference a year can make!! We even got to turn her car seat around in the van!!!
She seems to like it. She spends a lot of time watching out the window.

Shelby's Birthday Party

So, a lot has gone on since I last blogged. Shelby's first Christmas came and went. We had a good time, but she wasn't exactly sure what was going on. Next, she got her first tooth on Dec. 29 (only one so far-the others are working their way out). She has had 2 ear infections (or 1 persistent one). And SHELBY TURNED 1!!!. Since her birthday fell on a Tues. this year, we had her party last Sat. the 7th. Here are some fun pics!! She got lots of gifts and seemed to know what to do with the presents (at least a little more so than at Christmas). I made her a cupcake cake in the shape of a butterfly. I even frosted it myself!! She seemed to enjoy herself, but wasn't always sure what the fuss was about. Then came her turn to eat her cake. That she enjoyed very much!! She even ate some ice cream. I gave her a couple of bites with the spoon, then she took over with her hands. It wasn't too big of a mess though.
